The ugliest animal in the world by official vote! The blobfish earns the world’s ugliest animal award. Ugly creature indeed, the blobfish is always in the top 10 ugliest animal lists and usually it’s number 1.
Everyone has been posting about this blobfish and it just happened to be voted the ugliest animal in the world today by the Ugly Animal Preservation Society.
It’s scientific name is Psychrolutes Marcidus
Discovered near Australia, The blob-fish lives so deep within the ocean that it’s flesh is like jelly because the water pressure is over 30 times higher than sea level. Just think of it like a very soft foot long tadpole.
This fish is almost muscle-less as it just kinda floats just above the ocean floor hoping food just happens to wander near it’s mouth. It has seemed to become a part of recent pop culture with all kinds of funny pictures and creations all over the internet.
Unfortunately like a lot rare animals, researchers are predicting that this fish could become endangered soon as they keep getting caught and dying in bottom trawling nets.
